Washing period underwear & other ooia products
Wash your ooia products before first use.
The following applies to period underwear: It is best to wash out the absorbed period blood by hand with cold water after wearing it and before washing.
Please do not use dryers, bleach or fabric softeners as it can damage the products and even reduce the effectiveness of your period underwear. Dry cleaning can also damage your ooias.
Wash cycle and temperature
Set the washing temperature to 40 degrees Celsius on the easy-care cycle. This way, your ooias can be cleaned effectively without damaging the delicate materials.
We recommend washing your ooias together with similar colors. You can wash our Feel Dry Top directly together with similar colored laundry.
The right detergent
To protect the high-quality materials and at the same time ensure optimal hygiene, we recommend a gentle detergent, e.g. a wool or color detergent without bleaching ingredients, citrate or citric acid. Our ooia Care washing concentrate , specially developed with KAËLL , is ideal: It cleanses deeply, is particularly kind to the skin and is specially designed to protect the materials of your ooias and keep them in the best possible condition.
Only in laundry net
To best protect the high-quality materials of your ooias, we also recommend that you pack them in a laundry net such as the ooia Washbag before washing.
This protects your period underwear and other ooia products from friction and prevents them from becoming tangled or damaged during the wash cycle.
How long does period underwear last with optimal care?
If you treat ooia products well, they will last you a long time.
The period underwear will then retain its full effectiveness for around 2 years. After that, you can of course continue to use it as “normal” underwear outside of your period.
You can use the ooia nursing bra, the everyday underwear, the shape shorts and the feel dry top for an unlimited period of time; their functionality will not be lost.
