Produktion
Fair production and transparency are particularly important to us.
Co-founder and textile business economist Kristine develops all new ooia products together with her team in Berlin. In product development, we rely not only on internal knowledge but also on the expertise of other experts, such as gynecologists and chemists. As soon as an idea arises, materials are requested from suppliers and tested for quality and usability in the Berlin office. Here we work closely with our production development agency Good Garment Collective , who are absolute professionals in the development of sustainable textile products.

Transparency along the entire supply chain is a top priority at ooia: We track exactly where every single fabric comes from. Unfortunately, this transparency is not yet common practice in the textile industry. That is why we source all fabrics and materials for our ooia products ourselves. In order to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible, we source our fabrics exclusively from Europe. (Note: the raw materials for our materials do not all come from Europe, as this is not possible for climatic reasons.) When selecting manufacturers, we pay attention to the highest quality. All labeled ooia products are certified and tested for harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® [21.0.46579 HOHENSTEIN HTTI]. This means that ooias are certified to be skin-friendly and harmless to health.
The fabrics and materials for our ooia period underwear are now sent to our sewing factories exclusively within the EU . For some other product categories, we have also selected suppliers outside the EU. Everything to offer you top quality that meets European standards. There, the fabrics are conjured up into finished ooias. All sewing factories produce fairly according to ecological and ethical standards. Ecological standards include, for example, the ban on problematic additives and the minimization of waste and wastewater in the factories. Ethical standards are set, for example, by minimum wages and limiting working hours. We regularly visit our sewing factories to check whether all standards are actually being met.

The finished sewn ooias are then delivered to our logistics company Moodja near Berlin. After passing the quality control, the ooias are released for delivery to our customers. Before the ooias make their way to our customers, they have to be packaged by Moodja. Here, too, we pay particular attention to quality and sustainability. All of our packaging is 100% plastic-free or made from recycled materials - from the beginning to the end of our supply chain.
