Learn how our ooia products are made

Product Development

Especially with period underwear, it's crucial to optimally combine function, comfort, and design. That's why we extensively test our products, conduct numerous fittings, and work closely with our production partners to continuously improve cuts and materials.

Throughout the entire process, we prioritize the highest quality, sustainable materials, and careful craftsmanship. This ensures that every product not only looks good in the end but, above all, is reliable, comfortable, and durable.

Fabric manufacturing

Transparency along the entire supply chain is a top priority at ooia: We meticulously track exactly where each and every one of our materials comes from. Unfortunately, this level of transparency is not yet common practice in the textile industry. That's why we source all fabrics and materials for our ooia products ourselves. To keep our CO2 footprint as low as possible, we source our fabrics exclusively from Europe. (Note: the raw materials for our materials do not all come from Europe, as this is not possible for climatic reasons.) When selecting manufacturers, we pay attention to the highest quality.

All marked ooia products are certified and tested for harmful substances according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. This means our ooias are certified skin-friendly and harmless to health.

Cutting and assembly

The fabrics and materials for our ooia period underwear are now sent to our sewing factories within the EU and to Tunisia. For some other product categories, we have also selected suppliers outside the EU. All of this is to offer you top quality that meets European standards. There, the fabrics are magically transformed into finished ooias. All sewing factories produce fairly according to ecological and ethical standards. Ecological standards include, for example, the prohibition of problematic additives and the minimization of waste and wastewater in the operations. Ethical standards are set, for example, by minimum wages and the limitation of working hours. We regularly visit our sewing factories to check whether all standards are actually being met.

Quality Control & Shipping

The finished ooias are then delivered to our logistics partner Moodja near Berlin. After passing quality control, the ooias are released for delivery to our customers. Before the ooias make their way to our customers, they must be packaged by Moodja. Here too, we pay particular attention to quality and sustainability. All our packaging is 100% plastic-free or made from recycled materials - from the beginning to the end of the supply chain.
