The market for period underwear has grown significantly in recent years – and with it the range of brands, styles, and price points. Anyone comparing different models will quickly notice that prices sometimes vary considerably.

There are good reasons for this: behind every product are numerous decisions – from the materials used to product development, manufacturing, and production. We also make these decisions every day. We carefully weigh our options and consciously invest where we see a noticeable difference in quality, comfort, and durability.

Our goal is not to produce as cheaply as possible. Our goal is to develop period underwear that offers high comfort, reliable protection, lasts a long time, and is produced under fair conditions. We do not want to shift costs to people or the environment just to offer a lower sales price.

This attitude shapes every decision we make: from material selection to product development and production.

Quality begins long before the first stitch

While many brands primarily compete on price, we focus on continuously developing our products. Every decision for us begins with the same question: What truly makes the product better for our customers?

Many of these decisions that define a product are not visible later – but they are clearly noticeable in everyday life. That's why we invest in high-quality materials, careful processing, and extensive testing so that our period underwear reliably protects, fits comfortably, and lasts a long time.

If a material improves comfort, a process increases durability, or a detail optimizes the fit, we consciously choose it. This is how a product is created step by step that combines comfort, functionality, longevity, and responsible manufacturing – and that is its value for us.

Responsibility does not end with the product

We also consciously chose production in Europe and Tunisia, which allows for short transport routes. Fair working conditions, long-term partnerships, and high-quality standards are not marketing messages for us, but fundamental prerequisites.

Because we are convinced that a truly good product convinces not only by its function, but also by how, under what conditions, and by whom it is made. This form of production is also not the cheapest way. For us, however, it is the right one.

For us, premium therefore does not mean luxury for luxury's sake. Premium means making no compromises on crucial factors: materials, product quality, safety, wearing comfort, and responsibility.

Innovation is not a one-time project

Since the founding of ooia, one thing has driven us above all else: not just rethinking period products, but continuously developing them further. Our claim has never been to simply adopt existing solutions, but to consistently question and improve them.

This is evident, for example, in our Ultimate, which, with an absorbency of up to 10 tampons, is the most absorbent period underwear on the German market. Or in the Comfy Cotton, where we showed that reliable protection is also possible with particularly thin materials with a membrane thickness of only 2 mm.

And our development does not stop at period underwear: with the first absorbent nursing bra and as one of the pioneers for period swimwear in Germany, we have transferred our know-how to new product areas and thought further.

For us, product development is not a finished project, but an ongoing process. We continuously test, question, and improve – with the goal of making comfort, function, and everyday suitability a little better every time.

Period products that accompany you for years

Sustainable consumption, in our view, does not arise from products becoming ever cheaper. Rather, it comes from them being used longer, functioning reliably, and accompanying you faithfully for years.

That is precisely why we develop our period underwear for long-term use. It should reliably accompany many cycles and many washes without losing comfort, fit, or protection.

To achieve this, we rely on high-quality, skin-friendly materials, predominantly from Europe, which are certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. All our products are also tested for over 1000 harmful substances and are PFAS-free.
